Unlike almost every other band that got big when Nu-Metal was huge: Slipknot weren't as gleefully dumb as Limp Bizkit, nor as one-dimensional as Linkin Park, nor as outright obnoxious as Kid Rock and Coal Chamber, nor as obviously limited as Papa Roach. Like Deftones, Slipknot deserve to get critically re-assessed, post-Nu-Metal.
And their self-titled album
Slipknot
is a good album, as are the other albums I've heard by these guys (
Iowa
,
Vol. 3
). It's dated pretty well, surprisingly - it's only "Spit It Out" that sounds bad, with its chorus sounding like Blink-182 grew a set. "Wait and Bleed" actually might sound better now than ever before. Maybe all of this does. The second half may not be a patch on the first, but that's no reason to write this off based on a name.

He fronts it.
Here:
?si=CLWf1-AmuDRQUhl1
You know chester bennington?
Of linkin park rip
It was his favorite song. Such a good jam.
That's the front man of slipknot. It is DIFFERENT from slipknot. So if you're expecting that hard rock, slipknot sound, this isn't it. Again, why create another band and do the same thing
Regardless, hope you enjoy.
