Never will. Justin Trudeau in his public pledge in plain sight says he will keep their secrets like all other prime ministers do. MAG really nailed him here.
i dont know. the monarch is ceremonial in that he/she has some passive duties, like the opening of parliament. and the monarch is the public face of the nation: whenever a tragedy strikes, the monarch shows up, says some well-scripted remarks to the survivors, and then gets whisked away to the royal bungalow.
i think the british monarch also has some active duties: the monarch can shut down parliament if in their judgment, parliament is not responsive. I dont know if the monarch can "veto" laws.
and the monarch must approve of the budget. I dont know if parliament can overturn the monarchs negative;if not, then this power forces the parliament to take heed of what they can legit "get away with" concerning spending and taxing.
but i dont think the monarch can call the military to action.
the monarchy does provide the nation with a lived and living history, with continuity. it also binds the people to the nation. so here the monarchy serves a unifying purpose.
