I've just finished watching it and am wondering exactly the same thing.
Also what about poor Lonnie?
"The trouble is most people are twats or cunts. Or both."

I came across this lively little movie last night while looking for something to watch, and enjoyed it.I'd never heard of it before. Great representation of small town redneck Texas, humorous but at the same time genuine. The characters are all stereotypes, a little exaggerated, but recognizable, natural, and authentic.
SPOILER FOLLOWS:
What is the significance of the very last scene in the movie, where Mikey stands watching Strawberry flaunt her erotic moves in the doorway of her house ? Did he come by to say goodbye to her before he leaves town, and has abandoned his scheme to make her a porn star now that all his money is gone ? Or did he come by to take her with him to L.A. to pursue his plan to make her a porn star despite all the money being gone ? Or is it intentionally left open-ended for each viewer to decide what they're going to do ?

I enjoyed it. Sometimes a story about an unlikable character is interesting. He's kind of pathetic, and you'd almost feel sorry for him if he wasn't a manipulative creep.
I've known guys like this.
I like that they went with just showing a portrait of realism rather than telling you how to feel about it and all the characters.

Better than I expected because it was character driven and relatable.
