Don't get in with money you don't have. Make sure this is money that if you did lose would not have any negative outcome on your present way of living.
If you wanna grow a nice nest egg and you are young enough that you don't need the returns right away. You can but sure companies that are reliable in growth and innovation. And you will see your retirement or portfolio account rise.
Or you can do what I did. Which is two things.
Lots of reading and research.
And also applying the day to day living of the society in which we live in.
I will give you an example of the later.
I bought Chipotle Stock not now when every single person in the World knows who and what they are.
I bought the stock in 2007, 14 months after their initial public offering. My reasoning, I had been eating at their restaurants since 2002 and saw that in Nyc and the trip State area alone , their chance for growth was going to be insane.
I got out in 2019 after making a very very large sum of money. Chipotle is just one example. I have at least 9 or 10 others.
Then I have mistakes. Like getting out of a stock too soon just to take a nice profit. Tesla is one that I mentioned in another thread. But in fairness to me I was going through a ton of **** at the time I sold Tesla. So taking a large profit at the time did more for my sanity than my actual financial well being.

In general, I've noticed that many people don't just discuss films and plots these days, but immediately dive into comparisons, analysis, and even some parallels with real life. This, by the way, is what makes these forums interesting—it's not just a matter of "liked/disliked," but there's actually something interesting to read. For example, I often hang out in these threads in the evenings while I'm doing something else. Sometimes I even catch myself thinking the discussions get more heated than the film itself Especially when people share their perspectives and aren't afraid to argue, but without being toxic.
By the way, a little off-topic, but since there are so many sports fans and discussion enthusiasts here, I've recently started following matches and occasionally betting. I've tried different platforms, but wageonbet has been my favorite. It's not aggressive advertising, I'm just sharing as a user—they have a really user-friendly interface, you can figure things out quickly, and you can make decisions without the long waits you'd expect on many other sites. Plus, I like that you can calmly watch live and react immediately—it adds excitement, especially when you're already in the conversation and have a rough idea of what to expect.

That's one way to look at it. You're not technically wrong.
For every person who gains wealth through the market there is a person who lost their skin.
I have been on both sides. When I went with my Head I made enormous amounts of money. When I allowed my Neuro divergent brain to push logic aside and go with my Heart I lost money.
There is an obvious risk. No one can deny that. So again you're not lying.
