I still think The Shield has the greatest series finale of any drama. It almost feels as if it was all planned from the beginning. It's surprising, shocking, poignant, heartbreaking, and most importantly, earned.
Vic's ultimate fate is one he's been heading towards since the end of the very first episode. As a man who felt he could control everything, I can think of no better ending for him than having lost everything.
This is a show that just gets better with age.
So many stories, so little time.
