Gotta chuckle at the notion of 5'-1" Gabi as a runway model. Anybody find it funny that the show tried to pull that one on us?

Understandable thoughts, but the truth is pretty simple:

If all models are nearly the same size, only one dress size needs to be stocked.

Generally, dresses look better on tall, slim people.

Yeah, I think that's ridiculous and always have. I never understood why only women with a very specific body type that almost no women have are allowed to be models. Isn't the whole purpose of runway modeling to model clothes and how they are going to look on actual people? So how are short women, average sized women, et cetera, supposed to know how clothes are going to look on them when all the models are 5'10" and 110 pounds?

For some reason I can't wrap my head around the tall thing. I guess more of a presence, and the clothes hang better.

Models work as clothes racks essentially. That's why the industry favours tall and slim women.

I don't understand why models are all tall to begin with. I've tried to figure it out and I can't. They don't look any better than any other women. It doesn't make a difference to the clothing. It's something that I just don't get.

True, not the way the real world works. Though being 4'9" the industry seems kind of bizarre to me. I mean who is supposed to model clothes for me? Someone over a foot taller than I am?
