The movie is horrible and Selena has never been a good actress but she was great in this. She demonstrates fear and suspicion of a man who she suspected of being not only a drug dealing but a pimp. She desperately wanted to get out. Her discomfort at the party with all the gang bangers was palpable. She did a great job in the role.
I experienced something like this myself when I was 15. Three of my friends and their sister who was 17 has us meet up with some rough guys in Wasaga beach Ontario. I was scared out of my mind the entire time. Same vibe as Selena demonstrated.
