I found the sound on the DVD crappy and could barely make out the dialog because the background sounds and music were too loud.
Was April patient zero? The 1st with the virus and immune? What I think happened was she infected her family, which then attacked her. She kills them in self defense. Being a rural isolated family only they are involve. The authorities just see what they think is a nut case that killed her family. They lock her up in a asylum in the city thus spreading the infection. We see flashbacks of her in a straight jacket. She talks about being locked up and there was an explosion and fire and someone letting them out. So because of all hell breaking loose with the virus she's able to escape and returns to the only place she know - her home.
Besides that I thought the movie was utter crap. Bad acting/dialog (what I could hear), bad sound and as boring as watching grass grow. Which is too bad because the main premise of the move was a good one and could have been a great movie.

If that's how it was supposed to come across, the movie failed to project it.

Im happy to go with that. I like you theory, it fills in all the blanks I had, thanks.
The movie did have a good story behind it and the actors did a good enough job, but it was still painfull to watch.
