I'm off to the store to stock up before our next snow storm hits. That should be in another couple of hours. Among other things, we must have plenty of alcohol! That is a MUST HAVE!
After we have settled in, this movie will be screened! One of the best! Anyone who cares to is welcome to join me……
Just bring your own booze. I do NOT share!
You still around after a year?
Having reread this thread again, I have to wonder what your cut off date is for movie viewing.
What movies do you consider too old to watch?
For that matter, is this thread too old for you to reply?
Nah… it can't be, considering the fact that I started this one six years ago.

On the subject of Clifford Odets, I highly recommend checking out the mid-1940's film noir thriller gem Deadline at Dawn that was also written by Odets. That film boasts a lot of great snappy dialogue and a wondrous wealth of vividly drawn characters.

Acclaimed British playwright Clifford Odets was responsible for all the razor-sharp and highly quotable dialogue.

Remember Barbara Nichols in this? She usually played the ditz in comedies. I felt so bad for her character in this. There she is, waiting for Sidney, and he walks in with Mr. Sleeze. (Larry Tate)

Wasn't it fun? So many people associate Tony Curtis with his light hearted comedy roles. He could really deliver the drama. Another favorite is The Defiant Ones. He was powerful in The Boston Strangler as well.
A little trivia: Tony had a small uncredited role in Rosemary's Baby. Rosemary called the actor who "lost" out on the role Guy got when he suddenly lost his sight. The voice on the phone is Tony Curtis.
As for Burt Lancaster, I love him in anything!
