That does not mean though that every character has to be a moral degenerate or some amoral cynic. The thing that made the REAL Galactica (and I mean the one from 1978) was how it was about likable positive characters banding together in the face of dark, unspeakable tragedy. The nihilistic Moore universe has given us none of that and that is why I despise it as GINO on all levels. "Caprica" is only further proof of what a joke the entire concept is and always has been and why it deserves to be known as GINO because the real Battlestar Galactica stood for something far more nobler.

You've only seen 4 episodes so I won't spoil anything but some characters go through some major changes by the end of the season. Joseph and Sam Adama especially.
Then again, part of the basic premise of this show is that it is about a civilization that is just starting to go through a period of moral decline and confusion.
