I saw it three times in the theater. I liked me some Blade! Still do!

I did, with my mother. I was 23. Hard to believe it was 18 years ago. I still like it and watch it occasionally.

I saw it in theatres at the beginning of my junior year in high school.

I saw this at this 1 ghetto theatre on the South Side of Chicago. But everyone there enjoyed the movie, big time.
What made my night more interesting ? I had a blind date, she liked meand well I didn't like back as much. So when action parts came, she'd try to grab my arm and I pulled away, knowing she wanted more (poor me)
After that, 1 of my buddies went to the city and got his hands on a hot cop of this movie. Honestly the cover of the hot cop was way better artwork then the actual release. I watched that tape, tons of times until Video Update released it on VHS. At that moment I had 2 stereo hi-fi VCRs and did what I had to do.
Then I went to another slightly ghetto theatre to check out Blade 2. Luckily my friend knew the staff at the theatre so yes it was kind of them, to let me in. Like he said = Oh you didn't think, I forgot about you ??? So yeah I got the hot cop of this but the soundtrack wasn't as good as thee 1st.
Blade TrinityI'm glad I didn't rent from the Mom-Pop store; when they offered it to be rented early to customers. But that movie was 500% about Jessica Biel and Ryan Reynolds. Ok and not that great.
So yes Blade left memories.
CONFUSION REMIXES

I saw it as part of a double feature with part 2 when the sequel was released. I had seen it before on VHS (and DVD I think?), but I wasn't old enough for cinema. The movies are rated 18 here in Germany.

I remember being skeptical at first. Comic book films were only occasionally good during the height of Burton's Batman success. Actually, Batman was as good as it got for nearly a decade of sh!tty comic book films. Batman & Robin left a huge void, and this had to follow up that travesty. Faith in CBM's were at an all time low. I actually first remember seeing footage of this on a martial arts convention show on some random cable channel. It certainly piqued my interest.
Cut to the first day of release. The first action sequence put all doubts to rest. The visceral nature of it all and the crowd's reaction was off the charts. Marvel is too safe and self aware to produce a film as great as this anymore, and you may as well apply that to most filmmakers these days (DC or Marvel). This film ushered in a new generation, because of how unique it was at the time. The whole thing felt utterly fresh despite what some reviews suggest. The vibe will never be recaptured unless the studio allow some unknown to go completely nuts with the IP.

Saw it with a buddy when it first opened. I remember being surprised by how good it was, and regarding audience responses, I remember only one thing that stood out: when Blade yelled at the cops for shooting him ("MF, are you out of your damn mind?") and the cops ran off, the audience erupted in laughter.

I was 7. Dad took me.
It was awesome for it's time. I remained a fan of the film until the sequels. II wasn't too bad but III hmm.

I went to see it, with my mom. The film was not advertised in Romania (the country was still reeking of post-communist incompetence), and it was a great surprise!
I was 10 years old, by the way.

I saw it in the theater and was so hyped up for it. The movie was awesome there was a big audience in the theater it was pretty packed, everyone loved it coming out of the theater

I was about 20 years old when I saw this in the theaters . I was amazed by the whole new world the movie created . It was so dark and had a real life feel to it . The crowd was cheering after the first scene at the vampire disco dance . Everyone knew the movie was going to be great . I remember the very night I saw Blade because an hour or two later on that night I got into a big accident on my bike and broke my arm . I had a complex fracture . They said I was delirious walking my bike down Main Street , I remember none of this . They told me my arm was broken ,I went to move it and went " Yeah it's broken " and laughed at them . I was I the hospital for 3 days after for observation, even though there was no observation .

When he starts walking down the street away from the camera, there are newspapers blowing in the wind. I thought was the definition of absolute coolness. What a BAMF! I remember thinking, this is our generation's Shaft. Odd thing was i had only seen Shaft for the first time in '95 or '96.

Yeah, I worked at a job telemarketing for a carpet cleaning company, and my work shift let me leave early on some days, so IIRC it was a Friday or Saturday afternoon; saw it in the Wildwood theater off Lakeshore in Birmingham, Al (theater's closed now); it impressed the hell out of me; had to post some stuff online back then about how some elements were similar to Becoming part 2 (aired that previous May) from Buffy, but it's more likely that Joss was familiar with the Blade script and "borrowed" some elements (Buffy's final fight with Angelus, Angelus' blood being the "key", etc).
When the DVD for Blade was released (just before Christmas '98), I had just gotten a new powered subwoofer for my home theater system, and the initial fight scene in the club really came alive - BOOM! BOOM!

Same as Jim_Hopper. Crowd was into it when he caught his sunglasses mid air as well.

I was 19 when I saw this in theaters. Totally bad ass movie. The theater crowd was really into it which made the experience all the more enjoyable. I'll never forget the moment when Blade was fighting off vampires during the La Magra ceremony and he reaches up and catches his sun glasses mid-air que techno music the whole theater exploded lol. Everybody was cheering! Such a great moment.

I am the same age as many if the posters here. I was 12-13 at the time. I saw this with my mom (which was really weird because she hates any movie that is remotely violent). She was horrified but tolerated it for my sake. I absolutely loved it and still do to this day.
