Some of the posts here referenced "The woman" or "That woman"!? This was the start of the fantastic movie career for one of the best actresses ever, Ms Kay Francis! If you ever have a chance to watch any of her so called "weepers" through the 1930's & early 1940's, catch a few & you'll be hooked on seeing all of them!! A really glamorous woman & always dressed to "the nines"!! Funniest line in the movie for me is Groucho to Margaret Dumont, "Did anyone ever tell you, you look like the Prince of Wales? Not the present Prince of Wales, one of the old Wales"(Whales)!!!

That Kay Francis debut was Gentlemen Of The Press. I think that was the only time she was billed as Katherine Francis.

Actually, this was Kay's second film.
Her first was a movie which also marked the film debut of Walter Houston.
Dammit, but I can't remember the title!

I first saw this movie many years ago before I knew who Kay Francis was. Looking at the opening credits, and wow, there she is!
Before I read your post, I didn't realize this was Kay's first movie. I thought she was slumming, considering her later career.
She is very strong, and shows a lot of stage experience. Not necessarily a good thing, but not uncommon in those days.
