I'm just sick and tired of "sequelmania." Have been for literally decades. There's absolutely no valid reason (other than to milk uncritical audiences for every last dime) for every mediocre slasher flick, teen comedy or whatever to spawn a dozen or more increasingly crappy sequels.
All slasher flicks are pretty much the same. All that changes are the names and places. Moving the location from the Southwest to Appalachia doesn't change (or disguise) the fact that
Wrong Turn
and it's half-dozen cookie-cutter sequels are just
The Hills Have Eyes
with a new coat of paint, and under the surface, there isn't a nickel's worth of difference between the
Halloween
and
Friday the 13th
franchises (or
A Nightmare on Elm Street
, for that matter). If you've seen one, you've seen them all.
There's zero originality in the movie business these days. I guess it's just easier to just keep serving up the same old reheated slop as long as your audience is willing to pay to see it.
There are 8.2 billion people in the world. 8.19 billion of them have never heard of and don't give a fuck about Charlie Kirk. Get over it.

After watching the new trilogy, it goes like this:
Halloween
-> All the other Myers movies (before the new trilogy) are stories/legends passed around Haddonfield, but never really happened -> the new trilogy

I hated Kills and Ends. They don't exist to me. As of right now, I am
1, 2, and H20.
1, 2, 4.
1 & 2018
4, 5, and 6 have never felt connected to H20 to me, but 4 is technically not impossible.

I look at it as 2 continuities which provides plenty of material to enjoy:
1, 2, 4, and H20.
1, 2018, Kills, and Ends.
I know the police in H20 don't mention the events of 4 and only refer back to 1978's events, but that doesn't mean 4 didn't happen. There's enough there to connect 4 to H20. (Laurie mentioning she faked her death and the bloody scissors in the opening credits that Jamie used). I look at John as Laurie and Jimmy's son.
And after recently watching Halloween Ends the other night, I enjoy H1, 2018, Kills, and Ends as a what if Michael had been caught timeline.
