That wasn't acting - I was so impressed! I knew he was a cellist but I was a classical pianist and even majored in piano, but didn't keep it up all that much.I spend more effort and energy in my singing classical music. I could brush up my skills but I know it takes practice !!!
Therefore I know it must have taken a lot of effort to both do the character work and the music rehearsing.
KUDOS to the gorgeous and talented Mr Mulroney !!!! How can a guy be as sexy as Elvis, as beautiful as Maontgomery Clift, and PLAY THE CELLO TOO?????!!!!!!!! This is too good !!!
(Why they didn't have him in a kissing scene is beyond me though..what a waste! )
; )

The Joker in Batman, that's funny!!

I don't find Cameron Diaz to be gorgeous at all. She has a smile like the Joker in Batman !!!!!!!!!!
And I don't care for her acting personally. She strains; tries too hard.
She was no match for Dermot in beauty IMO.
But I would like to see him with Julia Roberts. THAT would be a must-see. Or Sandra B.
I do think he and Sandra would have been cute ending up together in The Thing Called Love.
"You could have had me for a song."

I think he would be great with Sandra Bullock, because she reminds me a little of Amanda Peet - pretty, funny, down-to-earth. I thought he had chemistry with Sandra in The Thing Called Love, but then again, I also felt chemistry between Dermot and Samantha Mathis. I think his acting is so good that I feel chemistry between him and the female lead almost all of the time, except when none is supposed to be there. For example, SJP in The Family Stone.
I agree about MBFW, he should have ended-up with Jules, but I guess that would not have been the right hollywood ending. I remember seeing that movie in theaters, being a fan of Julia Roberts and thinking that Cameron Diaz was goofy and prissy. Of course, I think she is gorgeous now, but at the time I thought she was gawky and not right for Michael.
Do me a favor, when you get a chance check-out the Griffin and Phoenix posts. There is a recent post there that I just can't believe is for real. Tell me what you think. It's the one in which the poster says that they think G&P deserved to die.

Well that's a good point. I couldn't really see him getting all romantic with either of them.
Martha Plimpton didn't look right for him anyway.
I wish he was more well known. It is truly a mystery as to why he's never catapulted to a major box office draw. I'd like to see him in a GOOD ROLE to showcase his talents, but opposite a big star like Sandra Bullock or Julia Roberts. He should be paired with Julia in a film where they end up togther.
In MBFW I wanted Julia to get him, despite her scheming, because she is just warm and real and Cameron Diaz was annoying to me!
what say you?

He is so multi-talented. He sings, plays cello, bass, mandolin, etc. He's so charming, sexy, gorgeous, funny and he can dance. With all of this going for him I just don't get why he is not one of the more popular leading men in films. Makes no sense to me. Anyway, wasn't this a cute movie? Becky, I agree with you that his kissing scenes are to die for, but I did not find myself wanting him to kiss either Samantha or Elaine. I totally bought his friendship with Samantha, but did not feel a romantic chemistry between them. I found Elaine to be convincingly conniving and therefore did not want Henry to end up with her either. IMO, I'd much rather watch him kiss Phoenix or Kat.
