In the past I’ve been out at clubs with a friend who’s shorter than me and chubby, and when he picks the place, like some country bar in the boonies, he’ll get a hook up while I’d go home empty-handed. The girl is regular looking, but still cute and ****able.
Now I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with this. But if this is the standard of beauty that women prefer, then why is Mark-Paul Gosselaar and muscle bound Mario Lopez play the heartthrobs on Saved by the Bell? Why didn’t the show just hire two regular looking chubby dudes? Why does Nsync and The Backstreet Boys consist of Michael Emerson types?
In my experience sometimes, being the “heartthrob” of the group isn’t advantageous all the time - it depends on the social class of the girl, her weight, and geographic location in which you are seeking women.
Women naturally feel insecure about a guy they think is “out of their league” so they write him off even before he has a chance to show interest. Women, even with hook ups, are subliminally attracted to the safe guy; they’re thinking long-term - the 5’9 chubby dude.
If Ben Affleck and Zach Galifianakas weren’t famous, and they went to a dive bar in the suburbs of Mississippi, Zach would probably rack up more girls there, as he would be more attractive to that class. But if both go to a Hollywood beach party, the outcome would be very different. If a guy has a celebrity assets he’d have to go to California or Paris or Miami where he can use it fully to his advantage. It’s a total waste in the South or rural America.
