Interesting. Since we've cut back on environmental lead contamination have the murder rates gone down? If not then that theory is probably not correct.

Well, it didn't draw a conclusion so much as present a possibility: that the number of lead smelting plants in the vicinity at the time may have altered the brain chemistry of those who grew up there in that generation. Lead exposure is known to increase aggression and violent tendencies.
