I'm not sure what folk were thinking they were about to see but it's clear that what they got wasn't what they were expecting (For the most part).
PS And why do you call the trailer "simple"?
It's clean, clear supposition and nice flow noting a rough idea of what the movie is about. It spoiled nothing while whetting the appetite for more.

He's quite the arthouse actor and so I'm hoping we'll get something refreshing from his Joker.
Director is HAngover guy too so it looks like a complete 180 from his usual fare - might be very good!
