Killing him off would be ratings suicide for a show that has lost a bit of steam recently.
I'm not a fan of these fake deaths but i can't wait to see Penguin 2.0

When will people learn that you don't kill a Penguin by throwing him in the water.
Also, he now has a broken heart. Bad things happened before after breaking his tiny heart.

I don't think he is dead, they had him talk about love and losing his mom, sounds like he's about to meet the Penguins.

Wow - have any of you people in this thread saw the Batman Returns movie?? The storyline in a nutshell, was that Penguin was underground with fishes and.penguins (har har) and he was hatching a violent, crazy plan to takeover Gotham. Penguin is a gangster. An absolute psychopath with murderous tenancies. I hope and I pray that when Penguin does return, he returns as a violent, clever, manipulative psychopath. I personally feel as if they've portrayed Penguin as being a bit weaker than he should be. I think the fact

The episode 16 description confirms he's alive, and meets with an old mob friend. Probably fish.

what he said.his character is probably getting a little break so the show doesnt get too saturated with villanous characters. They are working now on Ed's arch and then all of a sudden Oswald will reappear.

He's not dead. This show loves to give little nods to the films and this was certainly that. Nobody stays dead on this show, and the show even went so far as to not only mention, but make fun of the fact in the dialog. I know that upsets some people, but this show is based on a comic book where characters almost never stay dead. It's all part of the fun.
For sure what's happening is we're going to finally see Oswald transition into the actual Penguin, maybe with actual penguins lol.

Yea I was angry that they did that to Penguin. Though I don't think he is dead. He will be saved though this will definitely change him. He won't trust anyone. He will probably be forced into the underground seeing he's lost everything. I am sure we will want revenge on Nygma. It would not make any sense to kill him off.

He comes back as the Penguin probably with the classic look or at least his voice will change.
