Yeah and all the news stories when I google search IMDB are basically saying it's good they're shutting it down. The narrative has been established and the truth and people's actual preferences do not matter.

Guess what : ) Ive been around Star Wars VII and I dont agree with some people there. Ive also seen how hard a time MCU movies (heck, Marvel in general) have when DC fans come. Ive also been aroud La La Land, OUAT, and PIXARs Brave. But this is the internet and you have to learn to live with people who dont mean it well, because I freaking would not have want to miss all the amazing talk I already had

I did not even notice that kind of negative climate!
You should check when Star Wars 7, Batman Vs Superman, Suicide Squad, Game Of Thrones, La La Land (current), Pretty Little Liars, American Horror Story etc etc etc were trending.

What hits me the the most is that there are actually not that many trolls to begin with, I did not even notice that kind of negative climate! Sure there are people that you dont agree with, but you do not call sombody troll because he likes/hates a movie you dont. And of course there are people who just want attention, but even these are not that many! The most of us just want to talk about movies and shows, about stories and characters, about art and have fun. Its a shame, its a shame we will not be able to do it anymore. I just opened the website and couldn't believe what I was reading. Seriously, they are just shutting it down? WTF?!
I think it probably has to do with the admins having to step in and constantly deal with posts being reported. Giving people warnings, booting users and replying to complaints about the boards probably takes up a lot of time and if the message boards aren't there, then it likely makes their jobs a helluva lot easier.
For us though, it really sucks. It's like when Yahoo took away the chat rooms.

Wtf are you talking about you are saying the reason imdb is shutting down there msg boards is because these muti million dollar studios give a rat ass what people are saying on imdb there are hundreds of other web sites and some if them are major movie critic sites that people actually post intelligent insightful reviews on movies but no lets not try to shut there msg boards down we need to attack imdb's msg boards cause there msg boards can bring this whole thing down not the fact that that 65% of the msgs on the imdb msg board is people just talking trash just for the sake of talking trash not because the movie had bad acting or crappy story no they do it cause it brings some sick sad joy bashing and beep on peoples work cause they have nothing better to do in there sad beep lives.
