Yeah, the latest news came as a shock to me. Isn't Television Without Pity supposed to reopen this year? That forum used to be a great place to discuss television shows in depth. Maybe we can all meet up there eventually.
The problem with the Television Without Pity is that its former "Arrow" board was a shrine of Felicity/Olicity/OTA worship and Laurel/Katie Cassidy "hate" (well, at least shade and denigration), and that it might have that slant again if it reopens. People complain about the imdb board and reddit (sometimes justly so) but I've never seen any television forum where the dominant member "group think" was as asphyxiating (at least for those who diverged from the Felicity/Olicity/OTA party line) as on the TWoP "Arrow" forum. I have a hunch that the TWoP forum regulars will migrate back if it opens up again, so for those of us who don't share their opinions it might not be an ideal solution. Not saying that there won't be in depth discussions, but they are probably likely to reflect very similar opinions.

Srsly, I've been on the imdb "Arrow" forum since 2013, and despite a few rough patches, I've become really attached to the board and its regulars (even those I often disagree with!). In fact, it's the "Arrow" forum fandom that's kept me watching the show, even when I've been seriously disappointed or bored. Hopefully those of us who want to keep the community intact can migrate together and continue the discussions on Lith's site.
