For the most part the show does not appear to be taking sides on any issues.They do however highlightit all trying to show varying points of view and our perceptions of it all I am ok with that..
As to global warming, am I worried? NopeI stopped worrying when a bunch of clowns (politicians) got on television and "promised" to hold temperature rises to 2 degreesnodding, clapping each other on the back and looking like the slick used cars sales men they can sometimes be. The topic is heavily politicized and politicians are in the drivers seat.. not Scientists and certainly notactivists flogging themselves into a frenzy.
Whoever it was that thought up the idea of a carbon tax (andscare..) on carbon based lifeforms well give thatperson a medal or shoot them. Brilliant idea and nasty as (censored)
Mankind lessening it's impact on it's surroundings should always be part of the equation. I'm on board with that much anyway.. but not all the fear mongering BS that goes with it. The science isn't settled and climate science is still in its infancy.

It really isn't. Many scientists around the world have stated that it isn't. The global temperature has actually dropped in the last 25 years. Sorry but it's true. It's all BS that simpleminded fools eat up.

The funny thing about it is while they were trying to preach to the audience about the dangers of global warming and how heroic it is to fight against it, they made the doctor that was doing so, the freak of the week monster to beat, and showed him as an arrogant rude and obsessive individual that eventually got infected with the parasite, and became evil and had to be killed by Kara who used a radioactive isotope from a nuclear power plant that probably could of harmed everyone else (nevermind his infected alien bits being splattered everywhere total contamination zone lol)
Just like how they were trying to preach the idea of a female president (Hillary nod) and tolerance to aliens (refugees), meanwhile said President ended up being a shape shifting alien (which just makes her come off as a shady liar lol)

much older. It's 4.5 billion years old now, and the known 5 mass extinction events have only taken place in roughly the last 450 million year, one tenth the sun's age. And the sun isn't even at it's midpoint in life yet.
After a mass extinction event, the world seems to take about 10-30 million years to recover, depending on the severity of the event. That's barely more than time to blink, as far as the sun's age is concerned.
And note I'm not talking about a TOTAL extinction event like you mentioned. I don't even think that's possible for humans to do, unless we literally destroy our planet Krypton style. As long as our planet is in the orbital habitable zone, I'm pretty sure it can recover from the depredations of any dominant life in any epoch.
It will take a few more billion years before total extinction can occur on our planet. Our sun is steadily getting bigger and hotter, and one day Earth will no longer be in the habitable zone, although Mars might be by that point. Perhaps the water and microbes found aren't signs of the end of life on Mars, perhaps they're signs of the
beginning
of life.

The episode assumes it doesnt need to show its audience that climate change is a genuine concern. This is just like the time it showed us a woman President who appeared to be a shady alien in disguise. We all saw how that influenced recent events on our Earth.

Man-made pollution, no, however volcano's can and have been known to cause volcanic winters, polluting the atmosphere and causing global cooling. (aka ice ages)
Devastation? That's happened on a
way more massive
scale before. The most destructive extinction level event destroyed 96% of marine species and 70% of land dwelling species, (and that wasn't even the comet that killed the dinosaurs), and then the Earth took millions of years to recover, but recover it did. Multiple times in fact.
Even after that big one, there were two more E.L.E.'s before humanity came around.

You are wrong. Climage change is destroying the world. There's no cycle with all these polution and destruction of environment.

I don't know, they haven't changed the tone with which world issues with pollution et al were introduced since S1. The diff. now is that instead of Alura and Non saying these things, we get humans saying these things.
