Why in the name of all is holy do they keep letting man of action write avenger stories. The show is awful. The characterization are terrible, there is zero emotion depth, all the stories are vapid. The heroes themselves take nothing serious, the world could be on the brink of doom and at least four them would be cracking a joke, it's not as terrible as ultimate spiderman but damn if it's not close.

Does anyone know the story behind why this was made? I mean, why Generation-X instead of X-Men? Did they know an X-Men movie was in development and that's why?

It isn't just usual hater reasoning or lack there of. Every member of Barry's team have a right to be there and Iris being the most important person to Barry in every sense of the word now both his parents are gone doesn't need an excuse or reason period, and by virtue of her being his girlfriend now, I'm sure the writers are dreaming up ways to have her and Barry make out there. I do however want to see the writers put more effort into using other sets as well, CCPD looks like it will be getting a bit for focus with Julian working there and we will probably get to see Barry doing a bit more CSI work which is always a bonus, we are also supposedly getting more more of Iris reporting and investigating whether that means at CCPN, or like she did when she pulled up the vid of Flash and Rival is yet to be seen.

All of the characters just yammer on and on without ever really saying anything. I want to like this show, but the dialogue is terrible. All of them have the same personality and just wisecrack all the time. I think I would rather have mindless action than hear them all say basically the same stuff to each other every episode.

Agreed. And they are totally wasting Hawkeye, Widow, and Falcon. Because every single story is solved by either Stark-tech or Hulk/Thor smash.
If ANY story cried out for, oh, I don't know, Widow discovering Hyperion's version of a phantom zone projector (negative zone projector) or argonite (i.e. Kryoptite) this was it. Brains over brawn, since the guy easily took out Thor and Hulk.
But somehow Thor and Hulk come back, and he justgives up? Stupid.
