Doesn't this entire franchise remind anyone of the large family dynamic where the kids sit at their own table away from the adults at holidays and get-togethers?
I honestly think this movie is Kevin Feige's way of feeding all those idiot "social justice morons" who whine about everything to keep them away from harping on his original and ongoing vision for the "real" MCU. Feed them a bone on Sony's dollar and keep their crap away from his original vision that stays true to the books we all grew up reading? For the most part at any rate (see Valkyrie). The beauty is that they can still use Spider-Man in small doses to perfection in things like Civil War!
Spider-Man: Homecoming is lining up to be borderline juvenile garbage overstuffed with politically correct nonsense but it may "take one for the team" and allow other properties to stay on track.
I honestly now wish that they would have kept RDJ's Stark out of this thing.
After the casting, I'm treating this like a bonus movie. Meaning we still get the REAL MCU films we were going to get anyway.
That's a positive in the bigger picture for older Marvel fans.

Spider-Man Homecoming is shaping up to be a real downer dud geared for high school age kids or younger. That's the exact buzz I've been getting reading the fan pages on Facebook.
The casting has been horrendously bad.

This won't sink the MCU by any means but it will forever relegate Spider-Man to a kid's level character. You'll see far less adults wearing his t-shirt and buying his merchandise. All you'll see are kid's backpacks and toddler items. Spider-Man is now doomed to the boy equivalent of Disney Princesses.

There Is a chance The movie can still be profitable,I know people are not happy with some of the casting, but people watch for Spider-Man,that alone means the movie could make money

Yeah but I don't think Spider-Man can survive another crap film even if Marvel has half of it back. I wouldn't be shocked if this was some move by marvel to pull the rest of the rights over to their side.

What terrible arguments. Peter has always been depicted as super young because he was meant to appeal to young male comic readers.
As super-young, at the high school level, for only the first three years.
The whole point of the "One More Day" arc was to remove his marriage to Mary Jane to he can relate to young male single readers again.
That was the intention and it alienated a lot of the fans who had liked at least a good amount of the 20 years of stories before it; I could be wrong but I don't think the sales went up that much if at all after that story and revision. And 5 years later Marvel decided to kill off the character and have a version with the Dr. Octopus personality although then he was revived.

Spider-Man is the crown jewel of the Marvel Universe and he isn't "the kids table" in the MCU either. They aren't going to relegate the biggest character in their history to the side. Spider-Man saved Marvel at certain points when many of their other comics weren't selling so well.
Literally making him a kid and making the point of the new films that he's so much younger and less experienced than the other heroes suggests Marvel (at least the people running the film division) now aren't too fond of him and indeed think of him as supplementary.

A movie can be garbage but still make money (just look at Suicide Squad) and Spider-Man can certainly be useful in any other phase three movie.
Read any fan site and notice from the comments that this movie that was sooooo desired and looked forward to is quickly becoming a joke. They brought it on themselves and Feige has too much vision not to know it was coming.

But that would involve a reboot. That means that this new Spider-Man you think is gonna happen won't be part of the MCU. That or they'll retcon a bunch of stuff. Yours and the OP's theory is stupid.

Spider-Man still half belongs to Sony. They could put the appeasing of Social Justice Warriors on Sony's shoulders and thus blame them for yet another awful Spider-Man movie. Another bad one could see Sony give up and surrender the rights fully to Marvel.

Why would they use Marvel's flagship franchise as the "sacrificial lamb"..? Sure, this whole thing started with Iron Man back in 2008. Except it didn't. It started with X-Men and Spider-Man back in the early 2000s. That's what got this whole superhero ball rolling in modern times after they'd spectacularly flamed out with Batman & Robin. Having a Spider-Man film return the franchise to its original form would be a HUGE coup for the MCU brand, and it would set them on really solid ground in the inevitable post-RDJ MCU.
