On-Screen? Maybe not so much.
Think of it like this though; under the watch of more capable filmmakers, the outline of the Superman story for the DCEU that leads up to Justice League is actually a very workable premise:
MOS - Mankind is introduced to the Superman.
A young man named Clark Kent travels the globe searching for a purpose to his life. He possesses extraordinary abilities but doesn't know why and he's well aware that his presence could change the course of human history were he revealed. Upon discovering his heritage and the wishes of his birth father, Jor-El, to inspire humanity, Clark feels elated to have found a purpose, but at the same time conflicted. Struggling with the notion that his adopted father sacrificed his life to keep his secret safe, Clark wrestles with himself when the time would be right for him to reveal himself to the world. But when the skies darken with the threat of annihilation coming from survivors of his own race, Clark must forsake all caution and reveal himself to the world or watch as his adopted homeworld burns around him.
BvS - Dawn of the superheroes
After Clark Kent, now dubbed "Superman" revealed himself to humanity by stopping a cataclysmic threat that could have reduced the world to ashes, humanity is uncertain what to make of this new would-be hero. Some see the Superman as a savior; a hero for the people of Earth to be inspired by and hope for a better tomorrow. Others see the Man of Steel as a "false god"; a deceiver who pretends to be righteous, but intends to bring about the same destruction his own people wrought upon the world. Still many others see a terror that nearly destroyed Metropolis and don't discriminate differences between Superman or Zod. One of these skeptics is none other than Bruce Wayne (secretly the Batman) who witnessed the chaos in Metropolis with his own eyes and saw Superman as a horror that the world cannot tolerate to trust.
Torn between his obligations to carry on the legacy of both his fathers and the fear that he will never be accepted, Clark buries himself into his work, trying to do right as Superman. But when the vigilante known as Batman calls for his death, Superman is compelled to do battle with the Dark Knight. As humanity wrestles with what kind of hero it needs, a new threat rises from the ashes of Metropolis to destroy all of mankind. The Dark Knight and the Man of Steel are forced to set aside their differences and unite as a team to stop the creature known as Doomsday.
As the battle rages and the fight looks hopeless, Superman, knowing he cannot turn his back on humanity no matter how much they fear him, sacrifices his life to stop the rage-filled monster from annihilating mankind, earning the respect and gratitude of the world and his would-be-killer Batman, who sets aside his anger and focuses his efforts on honoring Superman's memory.
JL - "They will join you in the sun"
Superman's sacrifice sends shockwaves across the metahuman population - would-be heroes and heroes of old emerge from the woodwork, inspired by Superman's bravery and tenacity to take up his fight. Several in particular join the Batman and Wonder Woman's growing roster known as the Justice League to combat a looming threat from above, poised to attack the earth and threaten mankind.
When Earth's mightiest heroes can't hold back the dark forces that would propel the planet into chaos, the Last Son of Krypton emerges from his deathly sleep to lift the darkness and fight for humanity once more as its champion.
I'd say it's a very workable premise. Sadly, it's not as streamlined and smoothly focused as it could be.

Works for me.
People showing MoS & BvS the same level of disrespect that movies like Catwoman, Green Lantenr, Fantastic Four & Batman & Robin got is just ridiculous.

This is pretty much what I've been saying since I saw
MoS
; the ingredients are all there to bake a great cake, it just needed more time in the oven and maybe an extra pair of hands in the kitchen.
If you feel like Picard screaming how many lights there are, it's time to walk away from the thread.

I think if BvS was more focused on Superman's story by keeping the POV on his perspective as opposed to the world's and Batman's, things would have worked out better.

It does sound good on paper I agree unfortunately for me it lost a lot in translation for the idea to the actual film. Bad scripting or bad direction I am not sure which it to blame more. Still with Snyder at least we know it will look pretty.
To make a great film you need three things - the script, the script and the script -Alfred Hitchcock
