In the later stage of the movie, supes and Metallo get into a pretty intense 1v1 fight. Supes seems to be losing, due to the kryptonite. Then suddenly he sees the rocket go off and just decides "okay, I'm going to kick this dude's ass in one move" And suddenly he's able to just kick Metallo's ass like it's no problem, tells him he's got work to do and flies off.
Why was he getting his ass kicked in the first place if it was that easy for him to beat Metallo?
It made literally no sense and it made the entire fight pointless.

Probably since he was too busy defending himself he didn't notice the rocket until it took off, when he did, he probably thought of something quick to take metallo out asap so he could take care of the rocket.
Was a bit of a plot hole ey?
