They took a not so cool C-D list character like Vibe, and made him cool on the show. So let's see what they do with Gypsy. I remember the New JLA (Detroit) thing as a kid in the '80's. I hope she can do a lot more this time than produce camouflage illusions.

It's called Hype. They can't get any more high profile characters for these shows due to the DCU movies and the overall lack of quality on the CW, so they have to hype things up like it's a big deal so that people will watch.

She was a big deal in the 1980s alongside Vibe, Steel, Firestorm, etc.
That seems to be the time period where the CW likes to pull its C-grade DC characters.
