I don't see how liking a character is a fault. When you say obsessed what exactly do you mean? If you mean she talks about the character a lot or corrects the lies YOU and others tell about the character again I see no problem. Is she pulling another character down to build this character up? If so I've seen no example of that. What is abnormal is to attempt to tear down a character using lies and half truths. Most of us simply avoid ppl or things we don't like.
