Disney does not make movies in the old fashioned senseit makes advertisements for its global merchandise and theme park interests. Disney is devoted to making movies for the globe-they love globalization.
As a Pixar executive once explained it, Disney could make the best tasting vegan cookiebut because they have to cater to the rest of the public they add this, subtract this..until you end up with a cookie that is bland, but has a little something for everyone.
That is what Disney doesit did it with the Pirates films and it does it with Star Wars and it does it with Marvel.
Whatever semblance to the source material there was, was before Marvel was owned by Disney. Now it's theme park ad material.

To all of those calling this guy racist/narrow minded; I don't think he is being racist/narrow minded at all. I get what he is saying. I'm all for diversity but not when its FORCED diversity. If they make 15 new original blockbuster movies back to back all with non white leads; I'm 100% okay with that. But to take iconic comic book characters and turn them into something they are not is just moronic.
I have also noticed a pattern with most of these forced diversity movies that change iconic characters. It shows the level of competency of the director. Most of the directors that make these stupid casting choices are also very incompetent at making an actual good movie. Look at the biggest offenders of this: Fantastic 4, Dragon ball Evolution and Avatar. All of those movies were directed by morons who thought they "knew better" and changed the core appearance of iconic characters. We all know how those movies fared at the box office. If this movie does the same I'm sure it will tank at the box office as well.

I agree with you 100%. I tolerated some of the casting choices because most of them were characters I didn't care about. Flash was when I started to get worried, but now I'm hearing rumors that Zendaya is Mary Jane, and not this "Michelle" person. So far it seems to be just a rumor that is catching on. There's no confirmation, and the Wikipedia description of "Michelle" doesn't sound like Mary Jane.
I also was looking forward to seeing this movie, and part of me is still looking forward, despite the obvious PC casting. But I'll admit, if they ruin Mary Jane, I will probably, PROBABLY, refuse to see the movie. I still have a strong love for Spider-Man, and I'm excited to see Tom Holland play the role again after Civil War, but a change in Mary Jane's character like this would only ruin the movie, because Marvel, like with their comics, has to promote this agenda in their movies now.

Wish we could trade ticket prices somehow, also have to use about $7.50 in gas and about $10 on parking, so i try to pick the right movies to spend money on.
