What I did like:
1.) The opening scene was gold with Spidey taunting the crooks. Classic Spidey.
2.) I love Keaton as Vulture. He seems genuinely threatening, and someone not to mess around with.
3.) Queens atmosphere seems really emphasized. I think thats a big deal since he is FROM Queens.
4.) I like the ethnic interpretations of Petes supporting cast. Im a fan of Spectacular Spider-Man, and what they did on that show works now. It is more important that they keep the essence of the characters alive. (It also works for profit. This IS a movie business).
What I didnt like:
1.) Peter seems frustrated for all the wrong reasons: He wants to be an Avenger. Why? The Peter from the comics wanted to join the Fantastic Four for money to help pay off the bills. This version just seems to want to be a superhero. I understand they want to distance themselves from Uncle Bens death, but Im hoping they incorporate a sense of tragedy in Petes life. I like my Peter more self-reliant and hot-headed. He shouldnt care about proving himself to Stark. At this point in his life, Peter needs to be focused on figuring out responsibility.
2.) He has too many opportunities: Peter works best when he has everything stacked against him. If the biggest stake is whether or not he will become an Avenger, then that is utterly stupid. That isnt Peter Parker. Pete fights crime because he has a guilt complex. He doesnt fight crime for status. I also want the loner Peter who gets bullied or at least ignored. I understand they want to make this version stand apart, but you cant change what makes him Peter. His biggest problems involve talking to Liz Allan and becoming an Avenger. He wont ever go without money with Tony Stark on his speed-dial. I hope the movie presents more hardships for Peter.
3.) The comedy: I cant say anything since its a trailer, but the tone seems way too comedic. Dont give me the Its Marvel, what youd expect? question. This isnt Guardians of the Galaxy, its Spider-Man. I dont want this movie feeling like a comedy. CA: The Winter Soldier didnt. Part of my problem with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is that it felt too much like a joke. This movie better feel more dramatic than it does in the trailer.
I love Spidey and I can overlook the superficial changes to his supporting cast. However, Im apprehensive about the film. Since its Marvel, I wont write it off just yet. That opening trailer scene hooked me. I just dont want this film turning Peter into a wannabe Avenger. I want Peter worrying about the bills, not him worrying about impressing Tony Stark. Stuff like that is why I gave up on Ultimate Spider-Man the cartoon.

you couldn't have said it better! I agree with this alot!
As far as the comedy goes; I have no problems with comedy, but the best comedy is tied in with the worst tragedy, the slight laughter after the tear. That's the type of comedy I'd love to see, deserved comedy rather than most being the easy superficial quip. Andin my opinion marvel has done too much of it. As it is a coming of age story as they presented it, yup. Use the tragedy. Life can be quite one. School is hell.

eeeeh.mostly cons in my opinion, but some positive thingies.
CONS:
The cinematography seemed like a con mostly; many shots seemed like made for tv, very static, uninspiring. Not much going on with symbolisms, close-ups, nothing really captivating except for the colorful suit.
alsovulture actually disappointed me in this. The one wonderful positive thing that got me excited after all the convoluted reboot stuff was Michael fecking Keaton. He BETTER bring a villain with DEPTH! the vulture better not be another bland laser shooting tool! He needs his horrible backstory, he needs to relate to either peter or even stark in ways. He is a character who can be in some versions bland, but there's definite potential. He is old, he got fired, he might be dying like Heisenberg. he ends up sucking the youth out of people for a reason!
But the trailer made me afraid they made a potentially wonderful villain into another FLAT CARDBOARD PIECE OF poohp who by the mask looks waaaaay too much likeany iron man. While it's friggin michael keaton! the master of anti hero midlife crisis tormented old male characters.
also; spideys identity discovered. NU-UH! NO! If there is ONE character who should just be know to the world, it's him. I LOVED the angst of Raimis version, where the identity kept being hidden from EVERYONE.
in general too much positivity in this. Little seems to captivate a change of emotion.
eh: Iron man. I knew he had to be in there, but I am afraid he is going to be a just mild, non conflict raising, random father figure flying by in this without meaning, without change or without risk of sh** hitting the fan. I was a fan of the lonesome, independent spiderman who had to figure everything out by himself if he was spiderman. I am open to a new take, but still very sceptic, especially if by the end of the story, he will still be iron mans lackey.
Pros;
the teenage characters in this could be fun?
I love the general hallway scenes where he ofcourse bumps into macho kids and whatnot.
The humor is definitely in there? Might be a bit forced or too much at times, but it will definitely entertain. I am certain.
the webby arms. Yes please, flap those armpits.
And MGMT. Have I danced so many dances alone in my room just to that song. Good choice.

good points.
i'm not opposed to the comedy though. i want a good Spidey movie with banter. and Stark will obviously be a wiseass in his scenes.
imo

The Avengers and Iron Man are extremely popular, so it's natural that any IM and Avengers references in the film would be emphasized in the trailer. I'm sure the Avengers will not be a major theme.
My life has major plot holes.

Thor having a helmet is due to Thor being in Norse Mythology. Flashback to Thor when Selvig didn't believe Thor was Thor. He looked in his history book and saw an artist rendition of Thor with his helmet.
Norse stories depicted Thor with a helmet. Just because Thor doesn't wear his helmet doesn't mean people aren't aware of his history. I don't see how its a con?

Pros:

Peter looks like he is of high school age. Tobey McGuire in high school wasn't fooling anyone.

The Vulture costume has the fur around the neck as a not to the original costume in the comics.

Spider-man quipping and making jokes like he should.
Cons:

The Thor Halloween mask has a winged helmet and a clean shaven face which is not how Thor looks in the MCU. I doubt there are comic books depicting him this way within the universe.

Iron Man being in it. Yes I know he helps design the suit for him but that happened in Civil War. Iron Man being in the very first Spider-man movie just takes away from Spider-man.

Cons: Too many Spider-Men. Should I bother learning the actor's name since he'll probably be replaced by the next film.
