Here's a friendly reminder that this isn't the first time a 20-something version of Wally West has gone by the name Kid Flash, reluctantly or otherwise. Case in point, Young Justice Season 2.

I actually don't think it's all that cheesy, especially within the context of the show, but I'm generally good with superhero cheese anyway.

watch again, he is not ok, he is reluctant, better be called Kid Flash but be trained and allowed to join the frey than keep fighting to get invited in his terms, this is what we call a compromise, he does not lose much.

I just took it that since Iris caved in and wasn't going to bitch anymore about Wally using his powers and becoming a speedster, she would insist on him being called Kid Flash, as sort of her last bitch move dealing with the matter.
