so why in the world do they keep treating him like one. He is a grown man.. Now I can understand his family caring about him, however there is caring about someone; then there is treating a young man like a little punk.. His father should at least act like he is proud of his son for wanting to be a hero.. Perhaps Wally needs to stop calling himself Kid Flash as well.

He is acting the way that any young person would act whose family has absolutely no confidence in him. If they showed him a little more respect he would likely live up to expectations. Its like in the movie "Remember the Titans" when Denzel Washington got after his assistant coach for coddling the Black players on the team while treating the white ones like the young men that they were. You don't coddle young adults then expect them to turn into the men and women that you want them to. Too many parents make that mistake.

He wants to help but he has no strategy before a fight. He just jumps in on a pure adrenaline rush he feels in the moment. That's how he gets hurt. He just needs training, it sounds like HR finally has something to do. Never really got why his family doesn't want him trained.

I think it was interesting how strong he was on his first go outside the lab. He's a lot more advanced than Barry was at his level. Why they refuse to train him is just bad writing. I don't think the writers want anyone to outshine Barry yet. He is a lot like Barry was in Season 1, maybe that will change for the rest of the season.

Sure, but the situation isn't putting Wally against Captain Cold, he's fighting hard core aliens. Barry and Supergirl together can't really beat them, so what's Wally going to add to it? He's only going to get hurt. If it were just a regular meta human situation, I could see your point, but this is really dangerous and he's so out of his league.

he saved Barry once, before getting his powers, and I bet that when he was 15 he was a far better combatant than Barry at 15, and at 16 and at 17 and so forth till speed caused a vast rift

He has no idea how to fight, he hasn't been trained at all yet. He doesn't know how to control his powers. Just because he's fast, doesn't mean that's a good thing. A guy with no control can do more harm than good until he practices. Nobody's saying he's a baby or should never train to fight, but it's like giving a loaded gun to somebody who has never fired one before. They will probably end up shooting themselves in the face (which he kind of did?).

I agree. Wally is supposed to be a 19/20 yr old college student. Old enough to join the military if he wanted. If they are worried them help him train properly instead of just sending him away or running the same test over and over.
Ironically Barry hasn't even told them the one thing they should worry about which is Wally's inferior healing ability. Instead of speed tests they should be figuring out why Flashpoint Wally didn't heal as fast as Barry does.
Shawn: I solve a case every week and usually one around Christmas

Wally took down White Canary, Speedy, and Spartan in about two seconds. Yeah, I know, those three don't have powers. But, Barry has had trouble dealing with people without powers before, like Captain Cold and Heatwave. So, Wally should get credit where credit is due.

Wally's character was wrong right off the bat. He is supposed to be Iris' nephew, not brother. He is supposed to be a lot younger. Keiynan Lonsdale is only 2 years younger than Grant Gustin. Wally should be 16 at the most. It needs to be clear that Wally is nowhere near Barry's speed so there's 0 chances of overshadowing. Having Wally be that much faster than Barry's level when he first started doesn't do any good to Barry's character.

He's not a child but he's cocky and immature. He runs off half cocked. Barry did also at first until he learned some lessons from Oliver. Wally could benefit from a week of hanging out with Green Arrow..

That in a nutshell is the my problem with Wally's whole story line. Everyone in the Hall of Justice, with the exception of Diggle and Professor Stein is between the ages of 21-28. That's Wally's age and are all taking the same risk and his family won't let him join the teamthat's stupid. Why don't they just chop his nads off.
