It's CW berlanti show, they don't do "Alpha male", the closest possibly was Arrow but even that show turned into drama rather quickly.

James isn't an alpha male. He's an alpha male wannabe. He wants to be the hero even though hes not. The show would have been written better if they had this beta male learn how to embrace who he is (a sidekick) and be proud of it instead of turning him into something he was never meant to be.
I hate James too and hope he gets killed off. Not only cause of the character but because he is the weakest actor on the show.
More Chyler with supergirl scenes please. More of the white martian/red martian storyline. Less James, the Daximite, and love triangles/squares.

When was he an alpha male? Not when he was answering Cat's phone. Not when Lucy's father belittled him. Not when Snapper embarrassed him in front of everyone. He's been shown to have no more sex appeal than Winn.

He is playing a black alpha-male. His blackness is subtle, but you can't deny he's playing the alpha-male role.

Again, you are making it a racism thing. I simply stated a fact, in which the character has typicay been portrayed as a white male. I don't care if he's black, but the fact that he is black has impacted his personality and character on the show, which is what bothers a lot of people.

I know that they use stunt actors, but giving his character more depth and interesting actions sequences, works better for the actor involved.

Mehcad Brooks probably asked for more action so they looked through the lore and found a character they could merge him with.
Pure speculation and a bit nonsensical since shows use stunt actors for the vast majority of action scenes especially the more interesting and complex ones.
Over time actors get to know their characters and give opinions on what they would and would not do (I.E. Soap operas where you can play a character over 20 years), but Mehcad had only been in the role a year.

Chris Wood is about 5'11. Far from an alpha male. The CW doesn't do alpha male. They hire a bunch of pretty boys in their 20s and 30s that cry every other episode and seem like they would be much more comfortable kissing guys than girls. Guarantee they all shave their chests.

Actually, these characters rarely save people. They spend the vast majority of their time fighting bad guys. Not saying that as a negative, soldiers have a purpose and allegedly keep the bad guys off our soil, but on a day to day basis they do not save lives.
That's what the comics and the early Batman and Superman movies got right that these shows don't. Two or three times a season (typically when another mask shows up) we actually see Kara interact with people she's saved.
James doesn't save people, he fights bad guys. The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl pretty much fight bad guys at night outside or in abandoned buildings. If there are civilians, all they are doing is running away.
I'd love to see an arc where Kara or James or Hank saves someone and they become obsessed with tracking them down. But that would cut down on fight time.
I have no problem with Jimmy being the Guardian, but his motivation is wonky and he's not a hero. He needs to stop saying that.

They should've just done a better job writing the romance and made him a hard core reporter who put himself in danger (a'la Lois Lane) for stories, or they shouldve gotten rid or him. He is a redundant character this way. Why would this show need a vigilante with no superpowers when Supergirl, J'onn, Mon-El (and sometimes Clark) all have powers and save people? And, on the human end, Alex/Maggie are both highly trained agents/detectives with years of experience and Winn is a superstar tech genius?
Like, James is just some dude who taught himself how to kickbox and got his buddy to make him a cool outfit. This is such a stupid use of his character. I'm all for diversity, but why give him this storyline? If he were still dating Kara, it might kind of be interesting for her to keep crossing paths with him in the field (I'd still prob hate it, bc she should be the hero of the show, not him), but since they're not dating, it's especially pointless.
Like, why is he not investigating Cadmus and endangering his life that way? Wouldn't it have been better if he were the one tracking down the identity of the head of Cadmus and he had gotten kidnapped instead of Mon-El? And then they'd shot him instead, which would've been scarier, since he's human and probably more prone to dying than Mon-El? And then Kara had tried to sacrifice herself to save him? Even if they're just BFF and not romantic it makes him more relevant to the plot.
If this were Superman, that exactly what they would've done with Lois Lane.

They think by doing this, it gives the show some 'balance'

That was NOT 20 seconds! I actually don't have a problem with James (or with James/Kara), but wtf is this storyline? Why can't they write him doing things that the character would do? He's supposed to be the Lois Lane character. Kara is the Superman character.
I don't want to see Lois Lane as a supe and I don't want to see Jimmy Olsen as a vigilante. They're supposed to be the people who Kara/Clark protect and whom evil people try to kidnap/kill to get to them. If you give the love interest/BFF powers, then why does the super powered person need to exist?
