Clark could've still gotten a job at the Daily Planet, and they could've saved Lois for somewhere down the line. Lana still could've been the girl he grew up with whose aware of his powers.

Would have been interesting but then Clark would have no ties to the Daily Planet. Unless you make Lana Lang have moved to Metropolis and be their top reporter.

Amy Adams would've been a perfect adult Lana Lang. They just should've gone with Lana in this version.
