Yea, it did get weird. Well, that and I'm just not a Scarlett Johansson fan.
That trailer has me amped for Valerian though, I always enjoy a good Sci-Fi flick. Luc should do more of them since he has shown a strong affinity for them.

I have seen Leon: The Professional as well as La Femme Nikita, previously I only named his other Sci-Fi films to keep it in tone with Valerian. Out of all of his films, sci-fi or otherwise, Lucy is quite literally the only one I didn't like.
I'm not sure if I have seen the Joan of Arc unless it is the one which has Dustin Hoffman playing the devil character. If it is then I may have seen itit has been so long. My memory is not what it used to be in my old age.

You should watch Leon with Gary Oldman and Natalie Portman, it is awesome! Can't remember 5th element anymore, been so long. Lockout was pretty good. Also check out Joan of Arc. Oh those other 2 are by Luc too.

On Valerian

I like the visual style and I think Luc Besson is a good director. I enjoyed his other Sci-Fi fanfare such as the Fifth Element and Lockout. The only movie I didn't like by him was Lucy, but this already seems to be better than that. Some of the aliens could have better creature design in this new movie, but it is what it is.
On Perlman for President

Hard to say if he is joking or not, but considering the "democratic" American political system is a big joke in itself I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he was serious. Also considering Kanye West and other jokes of celebrities are throwing their name into the race for 2020 it's time to hold onto our seats because things will get really ignorant.
