I love back to the future because of how flawlessly it blends sci fi, humor and adventure.

I get why people don't like it but it's harmless to me and doesn't undermine the original films as I felt the Star Wars prequels did.
But it wasn't "harmless" because Indiana Jones should be an ageless character. And yet, stupid ass Steven Spielberg and producer Frank Marshall as well probably George Lucas chose to let the Indiana Jones character age. These fuv ckers didn't have the mentality of a Cubby Broccoli and/or a Harry Saltzman, where those two guys believed that the character of James Bond, was BIGGER than the actor who played James Bond. Those idiots thought that they needed Harrison Ford to make Indiana Jones work and they don't. Captain America: The First Avenger is basically an Indiana Jones film starring Chris Evans. Ford's time to do an Indiana Jones film was back in the 1990's. That would've been the perfect decade to put a cap on the entire Indiana Jones franchise but they obviously didn't do that. They waited too long, in my opinion. Now, I hope they put the entire Indiana Jones franchise to bed with this NEW movie because Harrison Ford is getting too old for this crap. And that's what they need to do IF stupid-ass Frank Marshall WON'T recast Indiana Jones for a new generation.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

I love Raiders of the Lost Ark because it's quite simply the perfect action-adventure movie. Indiana Jones is a perfect mix of all the classic movie heroes from the adventurer, the scientist, the rogue, the patriot, the cowboy. The movie borrows from classic Hollywood tropes and archetypes but puts a modern spin on them and the movie's droll sense of humor acknowledges it. It's the teaming up of Spielberg and Lucas and Ford at their best.
I love Raiders of the Lost Ark, too, and I think Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is almost a perfect threequel in my eyes. But Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, I put in the same boat as Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin. But that's just me.

We're talking about Arnold Schwarzenegger, right? Anyway, I love The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day even though my Dad doesn't like Arnold Schwarzenegger anymore.
