It doesn't seem that way, even though he was arriving in a Kryptonian vessel. Daxam and Kryptonian vessels may be the same or too similar to notice the differences.
But then he has the same last name as Supergirl and Superman and that would be an unlikely coincidence.
They have changed the story in other major ways as well. I don't really mind that. It's fitting that they both should be castaways, that Kryptonians and Daxamites (and Martians) are all pretty much extinct.
