I prefer Elliot, he is one of my favorite actors. However, Hurt did a pretty good job and I am OK with him.

Yeah. It's a shame we'll never see him again as this character. I dislike William Hurt in the role and don't see him as a good fit.

Gangster Squad - same guy he played in Mulholland Falls.
Zoo Keeper - heck, just his voice in this and it was same old same old
Tropic Thunder - same grungy, grody, breathy dude as in anything else

Nolte was nauseating as usual. He was the same guy he plays in every movie he's in. The only thing missing in Hulk was the chain-smoking.

He was good, Nolte was the best performance in the movie though.

Let me put it this way with regards to Elliot vs. Hurt as Gen. Ross.
One of them is always a tough, intimidating person onscreen.
The other won an Oscar for playing an effeminate homosexual male.

I think he did a good job also but it's William hurt who is coming back for civil war

His look is spot on for Gen Ross and i might be in the minority but i think I liked him more in the role than William Hurt(Who also great as Gen Ross)
