Maybe the timeline is still changing from the events of
"XM: DoFP"

and
"XM: Apocalypse"
are the first ones to take place after it and it shows, some mutants now exist too early (The main X-Men) and others way after (Deadpool, possibly Gambit).
Either that or the movie is set in the original timeline when the sentinels have started to kill mutants left and right and Logan and Proffesor X are surviving by hiding.

I thought you meant they disappeared as in they went their separate ways or something. I think we can both agree that something bad happened to the X-Men in this film.

In the comics the X-Men jumped into the Siege Perilous to escape the Reavers who were about to kill them all, and the portal erased their memories and sent them to different places around the world, which might explain why Professor Xavier has no (or little) memory of his old life in

I'm sure the movie will change quite a few things from the comics but I'll bet that the X-Men have simply disappeared and only Charles Xavier knows where they went, and he's forgotten because of his Alzheimer's (which could be the effect of the Siege Perilous, or whatever this movie's version of that will/could be).
It is, as you say, hard to believe that the X-Men would abandon their friend and mentor. At any rate, whatever the story may be, they're missing!

Okay, I've just read somewhere that Caliban will be the one taking care of Charles in this film. If that's the case, then something really bad must have happened to the X-Men. I don't buy that they all just happen to disappear. Like really? Beast, Cyclops, Storm. Not at LEAST one of them can take care of Charles after everything he has done for them? It doesn't make any sense.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

I mean, if Xavier is in this movie, then they HAVE to address the X-Men's absents at least. Especially considering that I heard Xavier is suffering from Alzheimer's in this movie.

I think it will be unknown, they'll have disappeared and no one seems to know where or why.

They probably won't explain what happened to the other X-Men, it will just be left ambiguous just like it was with the wolverine.

I think you mean Fox, not Sony. Also I doubt Magneto would go as far as to trick Wolverine to kill the X-Men. It would be out of character. Magneto may be a villain, but he cares about Professor X and the mutant race. No way he would go that far to screw over members of his own race. Maybe Mister Sinister is capable of doing that, since he isn't a mutant to begin with.

That would be amazing if they followed that. Damn Mysterio tricking Logan, although it'd have to be another villain since Sony owns Mysterio.

It's possible that the X-Men were all murdered by Wolverine just like in the Old Men Logan comics, which is what this film is loosely based on.
