Some of the reasons people dislike it for (the acting, the music, the themes, the pace), are the same reasons I like it. I'll admit it didn't exactly knock my socks off, but it's a very fine show.

I wanted to like the show but it's just okay. The racism and stereotypical black people is so overdone in the show. I'm just glad the blatant racism drops off after a few episodes. It however does not affect my "rating" of the show.
It felt like they could have done the show with less episodes and have a more concentrated result which would have been far better what we got. There was just something about the show that felt off and didn't make it "great". Some episodes had really awful scenes that made me think of the picture with Picard and the facepalm. It had a somewhat good, but slow pace up until episode 5-6 or where it hit the breaks and went off the rails. The finale was dreadful.

Bad acting and plot holes.

It was pretty darn boring. The villains were a joke and lots of stupid plot holes. What about the judas shrapnel in his shoulder? ?

This was a very good show. The style, the dialogue, the fight scenes, the music. These MCU Netflix shows haven't done wrong yet.

I think some simply were expecting an angry Samuel Jackson type Luke Cage and that's not Colter. All of my friends

Normally I would let this go as a dumb joke. But people actually seem to think such stupid things in reality, so I might as well address it up front.
Just because a person doesn't like something that has a whole bunch of black people, doesn't mean racism has to be the reason they don't like it. In fact, in most cases it turns out not to be the case. But the media will never be honest about that last part either So, don't believe silly things like that people.
