It was exceptionally underwhelming. It wasn't terrible by overall standards, but that concept deserved much more. In comics, the whole world was endangered and most characters got evil or killed off. The Flash had a major motive to change things back. In this episode he had little to no motive to change things back and neither did the rest of them. Wally could have been saved, Caitlin could have become the part of the team and their relation with Joe could have been repaired. Is Barry that concerned to lose memory of the life he never wanted to have that he screwed-up once again? Is he telling his parents they aren't as worthy to him as the memories of a past he himself chose to change? That is stupid! Besides, it was just one episode, not nearly long enough to showcase all the potential of the premise. Iris and Wally were the only saving grace in this missed opportunity of an episode.

He could have gone to wells for help. The first Wells the scientist not the Thawne. This whole flashpoint could have been better, almost anything else would have been better.

He wasn't selfish he was saving everyone again. this speedster had beaten Wally and Wally wasn't healing so he wasn't a speedster anymore. When Barry's memories all finally disappeared he would no longer be the flash he would forget everything. He still had his powers because he had his memories. The comic book version is different because it has all the other superheros and Barry could go to someone for help. He couldn't very well go to Batman for help and there aren't tons of hero's that could turn bad

I agree that it was very underwhelming.

I doubt it's going to get better, I've been hoping all of season 2 for this show to get better. But the writing is just getting worse.

I agree. Not a very good episode. The whole thing also didn't make sense. It was all good, his parents were alive, Wally was Flash etc. But Barry seemed selfish to the point that because he was losing his powers, he was willing to set things right again by having his mum get killed and all. I just don't buy it. Just a very poor plot. Was enjoying the series until this season 3 premiere. Hope it can only get better from here on out.

The writing has gone downhill since season 1. It's as if someone else wrote the first season. It was really dumb, was it explained why he still has powers? What happened to 7 year old Barry? Did they send him off to boarding school? None of it makes any sense. This Barry the one with speed should have ceased to exist and little Barry grows up having both parents. No explanation of this was given.
And now Barry has messed up the timeline yet again. Did these guys ever see back to the future part 2? To correct the timeline Barry needed to go back in time and stop himself from stopping the reverse flash. Just allowing reverse flash to kill his mom again creates another timeline.
