Even the Dark Knight Returns Batman didn't become disillusion when Jason Todd died and stayed dead. That Batman still believed good in humanity despite the tragedies he has seen and his own.
And honestly, Alfred, Dick Grayson would not let Bruce become

They tried to depict Batman in BVS as a man who had been fighting for soo long that he lost his ideals and gave into killing. I believe he had Robins uniform with the Jokers spray painting on it saying "HAHA Jokes on you", likely referring to the death of Jason Todd Robin (or at least some version of Robins death). This was supposed to be a Batman on the other side of the tunnel so to speak, not one just starting out, but one that had been through the grinder and became disillusioned with what he was doing.
