I really don't buy Luke Cage or anyone regretting having his powers!
Okay Daredevil is blind and his hyper other senses can cause distress. He's smelling people's farts for two floor below.
But being capable of staring down anything under a rocket propelled grande and not be overjoyed? Come on

Well using his powers will draw attention to himself and, at this point, he's an escaped convict who was used in shady medical experiments.
So he'd have the police AND whatever organisation (IGH?) after him if were found out.
It's hot but not as hot as the night Johnny Viti got married

I just can't imagine regretting having that life security or extra strength.
That's because you can't regret what you will never have.
Could not agree more. I understand the not wanting to use said powers publicly, or being a reluctant hero. But it is hard to imagine regretting having them (at least in Jessica and Luke's sense).
I just can't imagine regretting having that life security or extra strength. Your everyday person can take advantage of those things without having to be burdened by them. Look at your life and the things you do every day and honestly say you'd regret not being cut by a saw or being able to move your furniture around like it was a roll of toilet paper. Imagine knowing you don't have to worry about dying in a car accident and having the peace of mind you'll always be coming home to your wife/husband and kids.
What's unrealistic to me is that they don't think they can live normal lives when they easily could, thus no reason to regret having the power. But hey, we're talking superheroes here, so in the grand scheme of things that are "not believable"well, this is like number 1242 on the list.
I'm so hip I have trouble seeing over my pelvis.

No, no. Now, you listen to me. When you first came to us, we thought people would come and take you away because, when they found out, you know, the things you could do and that worried us a lot. But then a man gets older, and he starts thinking differently and things get very clear.
And one thing I do know, son, and that is you are here for a reason. I don't know whose reason, or whatever the reason is Maybe it's because uh I don't know. But I do know one thing. It's not to score touchdowns.

They're ordinary people who suddenly have these powers and have to be more responsible with them, making their lives harder and they have to avoid using them too much to avoid being hunted down by bad peopel and worse.
Spider-man said it best in Civil War. He wanted to join the football team but he was too small and weak. Now he can flip a car with one hand and he can never play sports or do anything fun.

Not to mention, the unwanted attention of the government. Which begs the question, if Luke Cage is going public as it appears in the trailer, will he be chased down by agents of the Sokovia Accords? If he's anything like in the comics, he's definitely not pro-registration.

It's not the power itself, it's the burden and responsibility that goes along with having it. It's a blessing and a curse. People always depending on you. Bad guys always gunning for you. Finally, at the end of the day you're hoping that you can live with the consequences of your actions.
