The Punisher, starring Dolph Lundgren, is making its way to region-free bu-ray. It will be available in less than two weeks. And because this is another title owned in North America by Lionsgate, well be waiting forever for a domestic release. (They also own Death Wish 5, which breaks my heart.) To be clear, The Punisher had been previously available on region B blu-ray from the UK with no special features, as well as a ridiculous German mediabook release by Koch Media, which boasted three different cuts (theatrical, unrated, and a directors cut). That particularly release went out of print and is now impossible to find for a reasonable price. Enter my new favorite international distributor, who has resurrected all of that releases content, along with some new stuff

This new Australian release has new interviews with Mark Goldblatt and Dolph Lundgren but there's a new steelbook by Koch Media coming out this week as well with the only uncut version that's entirely restored in HD unlike previous German and French releases that were edited with inserts from a laserdisc
The former Artisan turned Lionsgate deal is long gone now. FYI, Fox has been the worldwide rights owner and licensing distributor for a few years now.
