The newest rumor is that Fillion will playSimon Williams who is, for comic book fans, Wonder Man. I am surprised for two reasons. First, I thought WM would never be part of the MCU because basically the character is just like Thor/Superman. A redundant character. Second, wonder Man isn't an intergalactic character ( thought the character can survive in space)so I wonder if the Guardians will partly take place on Earth? Interesting questions with this casting. Thoughts?

I could see Star-Lord watching one of his favorite 80's movies and it's starring Simon Williams as played by Fillion. That'd be pretty cool. But, I don't think Wonder Man will be a character in the film since Gunn has stated that it's extremely important that Star-Lord be the only Earthling in Guardians movies
Fillion is the perfect choice for Simon/Wonder Man.
