you should know that the ending makes everything feel like a waste of time. The idea that
MARIKO
dies
is better suited for a movie than a show.
Spending 12 hours leading up to nothing?! Also, a lot of people died for no reason!
That being said, the show throughout is Well, it's hard to say. The 1st episode is great and it shows a lot of promise to what's coming. Mixing the comics' character with the anime style and with the neo-noir genre was a good blend. But the pacing is all over the place.
There are too many episodes that one could easily skip and it wouldn't affect the viewing. It was nice to see
OMEGA
RED
(a familiar character), but he
has nothing to do with the main story. So it comes off as an obstacle. Actually, they could've dedicated one episode to flashbacks to see if he really loved
MARIKO
that much.

My brother and I watched the whole series, and finished it up last night. The ending really did make us feel like nothing was accomplished. Sure Wolverine
killed a lot of villains, but killing off Mariko is like if SUPER MARIO BROS. ended with Koopa all of the sudden dragging the Princess into the lava with him
. Course Mariko had no character. She stood around being sad the entire series. She might-as-well had just been a lamp or something.
