Am I the only one who is getting tired of Captain Marvel being portrayed as an obnoxious kid? We know he's really Billy Batson but come on,it really was ridiculous in this one..

I know total BS they changed all the characters for the worse. In JL:War I thought, "ok, it's the beginning they are all coming into their roles as heroes, let the brush off the bad character traits." But after this one it is just sad. Aside from making Shazam a child with a big body his powers seemed to have completely changed from a contender with superman to a static shock that can fly without a trashcan lid. If that wasn't insulting enough they had him get into a lightning war with the Big Bad and lose! Ok DC if your are going to change the character to a flying lighting bolt i'll deal but to have him trumped in that also why even bother writing the character.

When it was revealed anyone can revert him to Billy Batson without even saying 'Shazam', I was half-convinced they were attempting a character assassination.

Is that the one where they initiated the newcomer girl by having her give them a BJ?
Yeah, I can picture that happening. The new Superman is just that creepy.

You expressed exactly how I feel.
They act more like 'The Seven' douche bags from The Boys comic then the heroes i've known for the last 40 years.
sad really.

Im a big GL fan but I cant stand the way they portray him in these new movies. Sure he was a little cocky but they take it to a whole new level with him being completely unlikeable. I loved him in GL: First Flight and wish they had more movies of him and the Corps like that. But not if hes going to play a douchebag like they have him now. I think what also makes it worse is that he's voiced by Nathan Villion, who does a terrible job as hal jordan. But with the way they portray him maybe its only fitting to stick him with a sh!tty voice actor.

So true. I gave both of the new movies a 1 star, and that's only because I couldn't give them a 0. These new profanity laden, arrogant, rude, and just plain unheroic "superheros" is lame.
I own all of the pre 52 animated movies and while some of those were just meh, the post 52 ones have been abysmal and I will never own them. Flashpoint Paradox, War, and Throne of Atlantis were all given a 1 star and are movies I won't own. I won't even rent the next DC movie to watch that comes out. 3 strikes, and DC is out.
I'm so disappointed too because I loved all of the pre 52 ones.

Yep. After Young Justice, we can pretty much say the party is over.
RIP DC Animation.

Your right everyone but Flash, Batman, and Cyborg are written terribly in these movies. They toned down Superman in this movie but in War he was written as a completely arrogant beep who was more of a muscleheaded fratboy jock then the paragon of righteousness. Wonder Woman is a bloodthirsty killer who kills everyone she fights with sorry that has never stood right with me in these movies everyone she fights she decapitates them not what I want out of Wonder Woman. Shazam is having his kid part played up way to much and they made Billy Batson into an annoying little wise ass beep why would the wizard Shazam give him all this power in what way has this Billy Batson proved himself to be this great hero. Lastly there is Green Lantern oh my god there is Green Lantern by far the worst written character that has come out in an animated film in some time.
^Welcome to a post-NEW52 world. I think it sucks too. Thank God they dont have any NEW52 Teen Titans adaptations in the works. I always liked the Justice League Unlimited or Young Justice portrayals of Captain Marvel/Shazam, you still knew he was a kid but he definitely wasnt so damned obnoxious.
When theres no more room in Hollywood, remakes shall walk the Earth.

I actively root for this guy to get his ass kicked while watching these movies. He is the most egotistical douche to ever walk the planet. He is not funny and you can tell they wrote him to have an almost permanent "Womp Womp Womp" soundtrack after everything he does. He is in no way likeable as a character and it seems the people working on this have no idea who Hal Jordan is or they somehow were reading the Guy Gardner wiki page and thought it was Hal Jordans. Seriously it is like the writers wanted Guy Gardner all along but the animators drew Hal and by that point it was too late to redraw it. This could be how Hal Jordan is in the comics now and I can only say DC has completely beep over Hal Jordan like a 2 dollar whore on pay day.

It's like the direction of whoever is writing these reinventions of DC heroes just doesn't want to show them as flawed people, but more like horrible people.
Congrats on killing off DC animated movies. The only productive movie that's come out recently is the one about the Suicide Squad and that's because they were accurately portrayed as horrible people.

He was more immature in this one. Wasn't a fan, but he didn't have much to do. So it wasn't significant how he was portrayed.

He didn't really do anything that was stupid, or cowardly. He's a kid. Have you ever known a really smart, or mature for his age kid? They still can act like kids.

Billy is a child, yes But as SHAZAM he has the Wisdom of Solomon and courage of Achilles. He should be portrayed as having knowledge and maturity beyond his years but still be young at heart. The guy they have here is just a bratty tool.

Obviosly they wanted to emphasize the fact that Captain Marvel is actually a kid in a man's body and only Vic Stone knows that oh, and if you've had kids Billy Batson's age you would know how annoying they can be (especially when they have no real parents to discipline them).
