Is there a story out there that talks about his last battle before his retirement in this universe of batman? If not I think it'd be pretty cool to see maybe the final months leading up to his retirement and maybe we can see the reason why the batmobile turned in the tank it was, and see what put joker where he was and 2 face, and also what eventually lead to batman finally thinking that it was time to retire or is it explained in the book why he retired, or just kinda implied that batman fought crime as always and then one day decided to retire?

First 5 mins of batman beyond first episode
Asparagus makes your pee smell bad. I wonder what happens if you give asparagus to a cat?

What the hell are you talking about, Trackmaster? What does this movie have to do with the Christopher Nolan ones? Do you think they are connected? Are you not aware it's based on a comic book that's nearly 30 years old?

I'm surprised that they would squander the cliffhanger of a Christopher Nolan Dark Knight type ending. He saves the day, but yet he can't take it anymore so he swears that he's finished.

Not in the comics but in the Batman Beyond universe, Bruce had a flashback to his last days as a crime fighter he suffered a heart attack and had to resort to threatening a criminal with a gun to win the fight, then he felt ashamed and felt he was too old to continue.

Its heavily implied that Batman retired after Jason Todd's death.
Of course, we don't know how Jason was supposed to have died in THIS universe. Its possible that something similar to the events of 'Death in the Family' did happen, Batman put away the Joker for the last time and then decided to hang up the cape and cowl

It's called The Dark Knight.

Frank Miller probably should have written that instead of Dark Knight Strikes Again.
