I was watching the Kolchack: Night Stalker episode Bad Medicine with Richard Kiel (Jaws from the James Bond movies) as the transmutting shaman and I was shocked at how much he resembled Apache Chief. He even appears to grow during the transmutting scenes. It was pretty funny/cool. I have to get a good pic of him for my Live-action Superfriends collage. Has anyone else seen this episode?

I remember the episode and I think you're right. However, there is likely no connection other than cultural: The 1970s vision and depiction of Native Americans. They have long hair and wear simple brown, earthy cloth and headband. Both shows need to be credited for investing in other (non-white) cultures, especially Kolchak, which did not employ it in a token manner. And as I recall, Kiel was somewhat scarier.
