I can't confirm this, but I also read the same thing on the web. I will say she's a perfect pick to play her. I'm rewatching "Lipstick" and didn't realize how much Melissa George looks like her. She's not as pretty as Margaux (who I thought was extremely beautiful), imo, but she still looks A LOT like her. I do hope they make a movie on her life.
