Have been listening to Orson all week in a drama of his on the radio called "The Lives Of Harry Lime", quite superb and what a great talking voice he had. In my opinion the best. Here are my top five .
1 Orson Wells
2 Errol Flynn
3 Richard Burton
4 Ronald Coleman
5 Vincent Price.
Any other choices out there ?

I agree with that list and nice to see Boyer in there, I forgot about him . You are right about today's actors , their voices seem so ordinary with the exception of one or two like clooney or cage. Also love Eastwood, easy to do an impression of him. Many thanks for the reply.

Actors actually did possess great voices back then. Now their voices are as bland and boring as the acting. There are no young actors today with the voice or striking presence of Orson Welles. Some great voices include;
James Mason
Jose Ferrer
Claude Rains
Tyrone Power
Clark Gable
David Niven
Laurence Olivier
Ronald Colman
Leslie Howard
Rex Harrison
Charles Boyer
Boris Karloff
Burt Lancaster
Dana Andrews
Fredric March
Joel McCrea
William Boyd
Cary Grant
Walter Huston
Spencer Tracy
Henry Fonda
Don Ameche
Robert Preston
Gregory Peck
John Barrymore
Lionel Barrymore
Humphrey Bogart
James Cagney
Edward G. Robinson
Fred MacMurray
Ralph Bellamy
Hume Cronyn
Jack Palance
George Arliss
Paul Muni
Raymond Massey
Gary Cooper
Charles Laughton
Raymond Burr
Richard Widmark
Robert Ryan
Yul Brynner
Vincent Price
Rock Hudson
James Garner
Sidney Poitier
Robert Stack
William Holden
Arthur Kennedy
Joseph Cotten
Ray Milland
Lew Ayres
Stewart Granger
Ricardo Montalban
Louis Jourdan
Montgomery Clift
Clint Eastwood
Dustin Hoffman
And then there's Orson Welles. It was a unique voice.

Agreed!
No one's quite told a sound engineer that they're not wanted like Orson Welles did!
